Fitting a engine

Hi
My engine on my 4 metre Narwhal rib, recently failed and have purchased a second hand 40hp Mariner engine via e bay, fitting this engine i noticed that my old yammah engine 40hp,was about 3 inches out of centre towards starboard side it seem to cope with well, should i fit the mariner engine in the same place or try an fit in centre of the rib,any advice would be welcome

they are some times off set of center cuz ribs are narrow, by off seting it compansates for the torque, so the hull dose not lean to the left when you got your Foot in it,

the Maranator Should have more foot lbs of torque than the yamahaller,
thinkin that your new power is a 40hp 52ci or a 59ci, the yama beina 40hp 42ci.
