Fuel consumption

Anyone any idea of fuel consumption on the really big Optimax (225 or 250, can't remember which)?

I'm not far off the litre per mile everyone said i'd get with my 150 but surely it'll be nearly twice that for another 100hp?

Is there a rule of thumb to use regarding consumption when using two engines?

Hi Daniel,
I have the 7 meter Viper with the 225 and it does about 30 litres/hr at 30 knots and rockets to 85 per hr flat out (around 55 knots).
I am very pleased with the engine. Didn't skip a beat in the 80hrs I did in 2003 and it now has 100hrs on it.

I did put the answer to this question a couple of weeks ago.
The Optimax is about the same consumption as a four stroke.

We manage a big 7.8 waverider for a client which has a 225 opti and has 12 seats. with 7 up and doing around 35 knots the consumption is around 35- 40 litres per hour. Open the baby up it will do 50 knots GPS and you start to burn between 85 and a 100 LPH. the difference in revs is plus 700 so that last 10% of the rev range is expensive but big fun.
