Fuelling issues at WOT?

My Ribeye A600 had a see through water separating fuel filter on it. I recently serviced the body, but could not find a replacement cartridge for the old filter housing. The old filter was full of little white flakes that i'm not sure i can identify, but a little worried they may be an indication of the plastic fuel tank breaking down...

I replaced the entire filter housing with a mercury unit which is the screw on metal filter type that you replace annually (no sight gauge).

Since changing the filter housing i have had 2 occasions where the outboard has bogged down on me, only at full throttle though. If i reduce the revs it comes back to life.

Any thoughts on this? I'm thinking perhaps the new filter is more susceptible to blocking than the old one, and maybe more of the flaky stuff is getting dragged from the tank. Suspect a tank inspection is what is needed..

If you have contamination in your in built tank, suggest you take a sample before your filter, pump some petrol into a clear bottle so you can see what you have.

Hopefully you have access to the tank via the sender ?

You may have to purge the petrol from the tank into containers then remove the sender to view inside the tank

If you have old grey fuel hoses they tend to breakdown internally! Check your fuel hoses also

Ideally you want a quality clear bowl filter so you can see your petrol
