There will be two screws in the gearbox one at the bottom to drain & one higher up which is a vent & level plug. You check the level via the upper plug, with the engine straight up and down the oil should be level with this plug. If you need to add oil it is filled with a pump or squeezey bottle via the lower drain plug this is to avoid getting air trapped in the box.
I would expect a new engine to be full of gear oil but it may be worth checking it

If you've had a day out at Cookham already I'll guess it must have had gear oil in! No bad thing to check the level though. Did the selling dealer not do a PDI check of the OB?

I just took the risk using it just adding engine oil, fortunately the dealer confirmed next day that it has gear oil already as it can be transported without draining the gear oil[emoji85][emoji85][emoji85]
