gear trouble
Hi,
2003 Mercury 75 four stroke (75ELPT). Having gear shift problems. Shifting has been getting harder, now almost unusable.
Shifts neutral to reverse and back fine. Shifts neutral to forward and back fine, only when the engine is not running.
With the engine running it is almost impossible to engage neutral from forward, all other changes are fine.
Disconnected cables and exactly the same. Moves forward to neutral, neutral to reverse and back,fine with engine off.
Almost immovable forward to neutral with engine running. Is there an adjustment somewhere I am missing. Selector aligns perfectly with the slider mid point mark when going into neutral from either direction
Lost for ideas ? any suggestions please.
