Gearbox problem in Oban Suzuki 70

Just had first decent day since we arrived on hols in Oban area.Launched rib no problem yesterday.Today cant select reverse.Cable looks fine at both ends and it is moving the mechanism at the engine.Not got any tools and workshop manual is at home!!!Are the Yamaha people in Oban the best place to take it or are there any other options locally.Thanks!!

First rule of travelling to Scotland's remote west coast... always take tools.

Could be something or nothing. There's adjustment at the throttle control too, so hopefully it's just that and not a worn clutch dog. You're in luck... Ardronan Marine are based at Lerags, Oban. They're a main Honda and suzuki dealers. Give them a call tomorrow on 01631 566123

Don't know re Yammie dealers in Oban. But can recommend Ardorn Marine in Loch Feachon about 8 miles south of Iban I use them all the time good guys. Hope this helps.
