Hamilton question hope you can share some thoughts...

I Appreciate some help. Hamiltons are not really common in the netherlands and i apparently need to gather some expertise myself, on which you hopefully can assist!
I am afraid making a wrong judgement now and facing because of lack of expertise an expensive overhaul

in the water the impeller of my hamilton hj 212 doesnt see to be touching - as far as i can see/hear/feel - any walls and running nicely. However, on 'dry' the impeller touches slightly the lower side of the tunnel. I am still able though to manually turn the shaft and when it touches it makes a 'zing' noise.

Is the touching of the impeller alarming; am i up for aft bearing replacement or is the a lack of (water) lubrication causing this?
Also, te bucket has some room on the boults itshivels on- a reason of concern or is this not a problem?

Pleased to hear your thoughts!

Best regards
Gabor

it's the thrust spacers, basically there is end play on the shaft, when it's in the water the shaft moves slightly fwd as should the boat, when there's no pressure on it it moves aft and just touches the nozzle, not sure what your's will look like but there will be a shaft carrier on the aft end in the nozzle and it will have either a way of adjustment or shim's in the cap
