Thinking of upgrading my yamaha f115 to a 150 (or close to), which one would you go for and has anyone seen any good offers recently, either 2nd hand or new. Any help appreciated

With what? Price? reassuringly expensive like Stella fella?
Personally it just makes me poorer and gives me a worse hangover.
You're Obviously a fan of them but I think the OP might like informed views with some rationale behind it.
Firstly though. OP, what will you use it for? How many hours a season do you do? Is speed torque or noise important to you?

Optimax then! 2.5L V6 2stroke.
4strokes are for fishing/trolling and people who do long distance.

Why Honda ? Far heavier than the F150 Merc, terrible corrosion issues, much more expensive! It's a no brainer. Get the new Merc from Turbo Diesel. That's impartial too, I'm not on commission...yet

You could probably buy a 150hp Honda with 4 wheels and a boot thrown in for the same money - that's "marine" for ya!

When did 'retail price' ever come into it?
If I was in the market for a new 150, I'd be looking at 4-strokes from Merc, Yam & Soozook along with the Opti & e-tec 2-strokes. (Basically, everything except Honda). Price would be a major determinant, as these motors are all very good. Optis used to be a fair bit cheaper than the others a few years ago, but the gap appears to have closed somewhat in recent times, which makes the decision tougher. With the Opti, a stainless prop & Smartcraft gauges were included as standard back in 2007, while these would have been extras on the others - may have changed since though.
