Help - Honda 30hp steering my arm

I have a small rib with a circa 1997 Honda 30hp 4 stroke, the steering arm requires replacement and although Honda quoted me a price and the part number is still "live" they say it's now discontinued so can't supply me with one. Long shot but does anyone have one they are breaking for spares etc ?

Contact Ardornan Marine. They stock Honda and are always breaking for spares.

If it's the tiller arm, then would you Adam and Eve it...

Hi Guys - Thanks for contributing. Its piece no 2 in this diagram. You can buy one for the newer model but apparently they are different to the older model that I have.

Double-check the serial number based on your engine. Honda site has various parts for BF30 (but could be they all share the same unique part). It's the 'swivel arm'.

Honda Marine - Parts Look Up - Official Site

Given it's an old engine now - then sourcing part from a donor engine being scrapped is about your best bet. I know some Honda engines suffered galvanic corrosion, so check second-hand part before parting with your hard-earned cash.

This any use? Honda Outboard 2004 BF30D Mounting Frame 50100-ZW2-F11 (C16F-5)

Thanks Spartacus - really appreciate the help. I THINK that part could be too new but I'll check with the engineer, its a slightly different part number. The Honda parts supplier (Golden Arrow) says the newer model version does not fit with the older engine. I've emailed the Scottish engine breaker and await a reply.

I have a a complete engine less carbs. Used by a civil engineering company dragged up and down the sea wall so very rough but the part you need will be ok. £200 for everything if you collect.

Hello Davie - I have only just seen your post, today I had an offer of a swivel case alone but pm on its way as I may take this anyway for other parts.
