highs and lows of the boat show

Hi

just thought I would post my high's and lows of the show:

High's

1:C Fury with their amazing rib. I know this will not be for everyone but for me it looked like simple great fun.

2: The new Honda 100hp & 80hp world premier

3: Joint 3rd was meeting Sue who runs the shetland owners club and Sunseeker who always show you how you could spend you euro millions win.

My lows

1: No Evinrude stand in the 500+ exhibitors , Ok I know they closed the uk office but when you consider they were the only ones that were not there it is a poor effort. Even Tohatsu had a good sized stand and showed off their 2 strokes the new Honda Tohatsu's a few sibs etc.

2: Attitude of people working on the stands. This was shocking, I have never seen so many people be either uninterested or talk down to people as I did at the show. Dont get me wrong many were fine and very professional but there were more than a few that were shocking.

3: the so called opening at 9.30 and then not letting people through to the main part until 10.00.

Dave

I actually read that in a somewhat different manner to what i think you were trying to say... :-)

Grammar, the difference between knowing your sh•t and knowing you're sh•t...

Love the little C- Fury ribs too.

Dave,

Definitely agree with low point 3 as I thought it was stupid that you couldn't get into the main show till 10:00am. Security wouldn't even let a blind man and his wife go in 5 minutes before everybody else so they could get ahead start from the crowd (thought common sense would have come before the start rule here)

The highs was the number or rib exhibitions and the fact that sun seeker let us look on/around their boats especially when we looked like a bunch of peasants!!

Well we have been rnd today and found out some interesting stuff about fellow ribnetters and its a waste of time buying gear at the show as most stuff is cheaper else where.

Good reason for that - exhibitors are allowed to move heavy stuff around before the opening time and vehicles are moving around the site - worse for a blind man than the crowds!

so why did they say what the real opening times were? It's not a great start when your first experience is being tricked about what time it really opens.

1:just because someone's grammar is bad does not mean someone does not know what they are talking about
2: If it did then should we ignore a lot of posts on this forum including yours about grammar as you have also made mistakes!

Dave
Dave I got caught out too on one of the days I attended when I had checked opening at 0930 I needed to see someone for a meeting so arrived early and was met at first steps CLOSED till 1000, I had a colleague on a stand in first section so coffee and a chat but even he was pissed off each day with time wasters hanging about cause they could not get over the bridges

Also if your working at show the announcers tells ervyone at 1000 show now open have a good day!!

Never repeated mistake of arriving early

0930 door open does not work
