Honda 90HP - Runnung Ruff..help req

Hi all, I have a Honda 90HP 2005 which I bought second hand and have no history to it. It was lying for 2 years. I sent the carbs away to a dealer to get serviced, when I pulled the leads off number 1 - no change in tone, then it fixed itself and was running fine. Went to it today and pulled the leads of 3 & 4 no change in tone ,Plugs were wet so was getting fuel. checked compression 180 180 180 190 in cylinders. There is sparks to all the leads. Do I need to balance the carbs would this help? , Or has anyone got any other suggestions as new to this. Also Tried to take lower unit off managed to get 5 bolts off but seems to be stuck? Cheers for your help anyone

For the LU: You need to pull the trim tab; usually a bolt hidden under that. If it's really corroded/salted up, you may need a bit of persuasion with a rubber mallet (be careful not to crack the anti-ventilation plate though.)

For the other stuff: Wet plugs on a 4-stroke? Sounds like you're not getting spark to the plugs (at least not at the right time.) Did someone mess with the timing belt and get stuff really screwed up?

or start simple and make sure you got the right wire to the right plugs.

i have a service manual for a carb'd 2001 BF90. I'm not sure what years the manual covers. I sold the boat so I don't have a use for it if you are interested. I can check years on it.

If the engine runs rough again check out the operation of the choke ie that the choke solenoid isn't sticking or that the manual choke isn't partially pulled.
