hi my steering cylinder is leaking and I need a replacement its currently a hydro flex system but I cant find a uk distributor so I thought just buy a seastar cylinder and put that on but. I cant find one on ebay that's the correct part no for my outboard it seams I need hc5345 but the only place there available is the usa and uk customs will hammer me for duties. does anyone know where I can get the cyl in the uk or will any fit theres one on ebay hc5348 that's only £150 but that's for a Johnson and has reduced plate whatever that means. my outboard is a Yamaha 130 v4 betol .thanks for any help
Leaking from where? If it's through the seals that the ram runs through, and the ram itself is in good shape (no pitting, rust, etc), you can replace the end caps with seals for about $50 (which would actually be really expensive, I think.)
Not sure what seals HydroFlex uses, but I doubt they'd be anything but standard hydraulic seals (which will run a couple of bucks a piece from a non-marine hydraulic shop.)
