Importing outboards from Europe

I have read with interest some past threads on importing outboards from both europe and USA.

I am interested in this option for Mercury Outboards because of the worldwide warranty , does anyone have any further advice or info on anyone already doing this and can offer good deals ?

I bought our 5hp auxiliary form a guy who told me that he had purchased it in Belgium at a v. good price. That was more than a couple of years ago, though!
