Jets and engines for 6,5t boat.

Volvo D4 210-300hp or D6 up to 370hp.

Anyone have experience of jets with this size of boats. What jets is best? Hamilton?

I must confess i dont know a great deal about jet units, but from people that i have spoken to about them all say that Hamilton ones are the ones to go for- A friend of mine has just fitted one to his 4t boat powered by a Yanmar 370-500 HP, should go well when it gets on the water. The RNLI are using Hamilton jets in their experimental boat and more than likely to be used in the operational boat when its out.
They can take some serious abuse.

hamilton jets are hard to beat low running costs but if you have to replace main impellor will cost about 1800 pounds am driving one with twin jets and the boats done over 11000 hrs and they are still going well with no problems at all,
