Johnson 6hp
I can take back a Johnson 6hp 2st in leu of some work i've done for a mate. It's about 5yrs old, in nice nick. It's been well serviced and done about 5hrs work. What's it worth?

Ebay it! From experience people go crazy for small outboards. I would expect you'd get £350 to £400 for it.

I want to keep it for the kids sailing dinghy. I just need an idea of what to allow for it. Would £200 be the money of it?

Nah, more than that. Prob £300-£350ish.

If it's tidy I doubt you'd find one similar for less than £400, have a look around...

I doubt that Mol, unless he got a really sweet deal. I remember my mate buying a new Soozook DT6 in 1992 for £660 and that was a decent price at the time.

That sounds about right to me, depending of course whether you're buying or selling. As you're buying, take about half that figure.

£450 would be very very cheap for a new engine. I bought a new 8 Johnson about 3 years ago - 2stroke - £1k - Even that was 'supposed' to be about £1200.
Was on my furst rib ( AVON 310 ) - great river boat !
