Life on yamaha engines

Hi,

I have 4 stroke Yamaha engines, 115hp... 2002 models I believe.

I have about 340 hours on each currently - just wondering how many hours I should expect to get out of them ?

Thanks

Ben

Hi

If you do every thing right then thay shoud last as long at the boat.
i.e Servicing every 100 hours or so, winterizing, dont do any thing stupid with them, check the oil on then every now and then, new impeller every 150 hours ( we do it bit ott but hay), check anodes every 50 hours and bit of grease in the right places.

If i have missed and thing out outher people will soon put me right.

Old Yamahas

Nope sorry Richard can't agree, those Yamahas are old hat and at the end of there working life, you should ditch them now, although I could give you a fair trade price for them if the props are in good condition

Managed about 2000 hours on a Yam 115 2 stroke version, so you have a long way to go yet. As Rib Boi says servicing, annodes and TLC with grease and you should be looking to replace them oooh, 2015 ish.

Pete
