I'd want to look at the Yamaha one closer before buying it to make sure it won't sieze solid.

Hard to say. I've got one here waiting to fit. It doesn't look fantastically secure-but it'll be hard enough to remove that it'd be easier for them to do their rather destructive trick of chainsawing off the transom.
At least it'll be removable as long as you don't lose the socket!

does it just fit over the original bolt? Take off the nut replace with this?
Are there any locks out there that go the whole way through the transom?

About 2 weeks-but I didn't buy from Brownspoint. Mine was from Ebay USA. The lock will fit in a jiffy bag though so shipping is really cheap.

No. It's for an outboard with a clamp instead of bolts through the transom.

I've fitted the Yamaha lock to my boat. Solid enough and finished in stainless steel. A determined boat thief will still be able to remove it - I'm convinced.
Remember to thoroughly grease the key-lock or it will weld itself shut with salt spray. Okay until such time as you need to remove the engine for any reason.
Call me paranoid, but I've fitted a triple-hitch-lock on the Roller-Coaster trailer, a wheel clamp, the garage is alarmed and has additional Yale shoot bolts.

They (fulton locks) also seem to rust fairly quickly - 1 season with this on my aux and it's falling apart....

Ive got one fitted. Same as a Mcgard i think.
http://www.mcgardlocks.co.uk/prodtyp...cordPosition=1
Mines fitted aswell as the original nut. Original nylok then the Locking nut. Probably get at it with a good nut splitter?
Better than nothing and you will need one for your insurance.
Ive datataged and micro dotted mine also.
Am considering etching/ engraving some parts also.

How does import duty and tax look on Brownspoint items? They seem to have lots of useful stuff I can't find online in the UK.
