Is there any way to get a Yam 40 with manual trim and tilt, converted to have PTT. if so does anyone know roughly how much it will cost to do?

Let me put it this way...
Don't bother unless you can buy a scrap motor with the bits on it and do all the work yourself. It's uneconomical otherwise.

I posted the same thing as you not long ago, came to the conclusion that unless I could find a scrapped motor it really wouldnt be worth the hassle(as said). A mate told me a mercury PTT should fit also to the Yam so that could broaden your search a bit.
Cheers

When I was thinking about the same thing for a Honda 40, I found out the rams alone were well over $650 US. That pretty much stopped the project, so I don't know what the other brackets and such cost.

Whatever you currently think, once you've got PTT you'll never want a motor without it. It makes a hell of a difference to the versatility of an SR4.

Yeah fair point but it's worth talking to these guys as well. I've recently bought something off them and was impressed the condition and realquick and reasonable carriage

Also have a look at the Yam / Merc / Mariner microfiches - you'd be surprised just how many engines will take the same PT unit.
