Mariner 20hp 2011

Hi,

Recently brought a 2011 mariner 20hp for my boat.

Hi Jeff, it’s the thing I’ve circled. It’s made of rubber and is attached to something. Just unsure what.

Ha ha didn't see the circle might be the bottom cowl seal hard to tell can you see inside the cowl from the top

Hi Jeff, unfortunately can’t see in from the top. Only way I can see is by looking at where it’s coming out.

I've had a look on parts diagrams but not seeing anything like that you could take the bottom cowl off to see where it starts it might just be a splash seal hard to tell

Thanks for that. I will have to see how to take the bottom cowl off (new to all this) but want to learn.

To be honest it's the only way sometimes I found quite a few schematic diagrams on line. Worth going on YouTube to,danger marine is a good one DRAYS shop another. Let us know how you get on. Fenlander might be along he's well versed in the small hp range

It's not anything that comes immediately to mind... I even wondered if someone had stuffed it up into a gap to stop a vibration.

But yep... lower cowl off to get a better look seems best.

had a look on my motor there's nothing like that in the slew bearing area must be from the bottom cowl but i would agree with fenlander something just stuffed in there a possibility
