Mariner 25 hp

Hi can anybody confirm the year of manufacture of my mariner outboard The outboard is a mariner 25 hp 2stroke serial number op137390 I believe it's one of the last 2strokes ? Trying to get the correct service parts and also find the correct fuel oil mix, previous owner stated 1% oil ie 100: 1 there is a fairly original looking sticker on the motor stating 1% may be being paranoid but always been 50:1 on other 2strokes I've owned ,and have seen a user manual online stating 50: 1 ( may be an earlier manual ) Also spark plugs NGk b7 hs 10 listed in the manual but NGk bpz8h 10 in the motor at the moment Any help would be tops thanks

Your obm will be 50:1 fuel mix, as for the spark plugs you will probally find on the epc that there are about half a dozen that you can use, but any merc/mar dealer on here will be able to tell you

That brand model could be a disguissed Tohatsu same HP horse, if so any Tohatsu part will fit and you can pass that horse to a 30 HP for peanuts cost. Check if same as pic. And the correct fuel/oil ratio is 50:1.

Happy Boating

It's a made in USA motor not the Japan made Tohatsu, can tell that from the pictures you've put up. Cowl looks the same as a 1998 model but parts for this should be interchangeable between years as they didn't update the motor design. Fuel:oil mix is 50:1 and parts should be available through a Mercury dealer (This engine and the Mercury 25hp USA model were identical bar the cowl paint/decals).

As joey 1987 mentions above, if it's the motor on the Honwave in your album pics, then it's '97/98 ish.

I'd mix the oil 50:1, as uncle al suggests.

For part numbers, look here:

MERCURY : 25, 25 SEA PRO, SUPER 15 (2 CYL.) : 0P017000 THRU 0P325499 - Performance Product Technologies

It's a Merc, not a Tohatsu - could be made in USA or Belgium. Should say on the Serial Number badge on the saddle.

The link I posted earlier will give you part numbers for any bits you need.
