Mariner

Could anybody help me?
I have a very little used Mariner 15hp two stroke and am trying to find a value for it. It has allways been flushed and serviced. Possibly ten hours or so yearly, been used on my 3.1 Avon inflatable which may allso be for sale. I purchased it from a main dealer in Northampton in July 2000. It is in very, very good condition. Have original receipt and hand books.
Please ...................any idea on value and where is best place to sell etc.
Phil

a good 2 stroke can now punch above its weight and are quite sort after by the bombard owners club LOL so i would think anywhere between 700 - 1000 on a good day would be my guess put it up and see what happens
stick it on boats and outboards just google it , sure others will give you a guestamate

Hi

If it's in good condition it's worth between £650-£995 dependant on it's history and who is selling it. Age is a bit older than most want now at top money. Normally though they are quite sought after based on being ideal for a lot of the SIBS on here. Stick it up on here and I'm sure somebody will be in touch with a offer.

I'll start if you like pm if or email more

present economic climate means its a buyers market unfortunately, think you`ll be lucky to acheive 200 - 300, dont wait to long cause the price is dropping every day trust me !!

that should do it :-}

Mariner

So we all agree £900 should be the starting price.

seriously. i would put it up for 1000 and see what occurs , you can alwyas reduce it but is suspect you will have a few enquiries and then theres room to negotiate

Yes give it a try, age is the only drawback on it at that money but if the demand is there it will sell.

Speaking personally as one in the market for a 2 stroke 15hp and following recent sales - it is a buyers market for sure and I would not be wanting to pay £1000 for a year 2000 engine. If it was 2005 maybe...BO's earlier estimate is closer I think...

the only thing i would add is 2 strokes are really sort after now, especially if looked after ,and punch above there weight, whilst its a buyers market normally , good 2 strokes fetch more than they are really worth and they are going to get rarer than rocking horse shit now there not made!
i would hold out for what i wanted as someone will pay it ! put it on boats and outboards forum free listing dont think kit will be there to long:-)
one below year older £800

as for getting a good 2005 for a grand :-(

http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/o...troke-PAA31293

even a four stroke :-(

Assuming you mean my "earlier estimate" of £300 that was a joke and if you can find 2000 15hp Merc or Mariner's in the UK with 1 owner in "very very good condition" I'll have 100 of them please. In fact make that 1000.

If your referring to my £695-£995 quote then I'd agree somewhere in the middle would suit it well. £900 is a reasonable asking price if it's open to sensible movement to secure a sale!

I don't see it as a buyers Market by any means. A decent 2 stroke is very hard to come by especially in the higher HP range. If you have one you will have a queue waiting or it. I have a long waiting list on 5hp-60hp. Just cannot find enough of them to supply!
