Mariner 60 HP 2 stroke Starter Solenoid Replacement

Well after 30 years the Starter solenoid decided to fail on my trusty old Mariner. It is an easy job to replace. Just ember to switch of the power and make sure you know where all the wires go. There are far more than just the wires for the solenoid connected to the big positive.

I was lucky that this gave me a couple of clues when in use before it finally died. I surpose this is a part you could carry as it is easy to replace and is a real bad day if it fails at the wrong time and place 🙈. Little video below for those that are interested. Yes this is an old engine but I love it

Took the old girl out Yesterday and the new Solenoid worked a dream. When I think back I recall turning the key a few times and nothing but then turned again and it was fine. I sort of did not twig what was happening. Glad it failed when it did as outer places could be an issue
