Mariner 60hp 2stroke 2 cylinder

Hi guys,
I am after buying a Mariner 60 6F0 outboard. Have ignition problem (no ignition). Any help/ wiring/ manual for the model. Only manuals I am able to find are for the US models (3 and 4 cylinder).

Welcome to Ribnet

Hopefully you haven't bought it.

Ancient (early 80s) and it's actually a Yamaha with a rebadge which should be easier to find a manual for.

Known for gearbox issues and gearbox casing issues.

Never seen a gearbox fail on one of these and the casing is very strong and was still used on the Yamaha 50G until recently unchanged, and along with the 55/60 leg is utilised on modified short shaft high performance 90hps too.

I've had two gearbox failures on the mariner 60E.

I’m miles away from you (skerries) but you can give me a bell and maybe I can help ... either that or ring Ronan Keys @ Inland inflatable boats in Sligo he’s a genius at repairing Ribs/Engines

I have bought it, havent much time to spend over it yet. Would really appreciate a manual for it, at least an ignition test chapter. Need the specs (Volts and Ohms of the coils to test).
