Mariner 60hp Bigfoot 2 stroke.

Hi, looking for any advice possible. Does anyone have any experience of running mariner 'bigfoot's? In real world terms does the different gearbox make a big difference? I have a 16ft Picton. All advice appreciated.

I have a Mercury 60 hp with the standard gear box on a 5 mtr tornado rib. However. I have driven ribs with the big foot gearbox on the 60hp 2S, my suspicions are that it produces a little more drag. Organisations like the MOD use them as they are just more robust and probably can take a bit more abuse/wear from lots of different drivers. I think they may also be able to take a bigger ie larger dia prop but not sure about that.
