did you have water comming out the tell tail before? Did it suddenly stop comming out? If the latter I would suspect either a massive failer of the water pump or (more likely) something has got stuck either in the tell tail of assosiated waterways . I would suggest disconnecting the tell tail first as close to the block as possible and running her again.

Or it was!

I'd have suggested bringing it over at the weekend but off on holiday I'm afraid.

Try the simple things you might have missed something. Hope you get it sorted.

If I were you, I'd be looking at swapping it for something along the lines of a Mariner 3.3

Before you dismantle it blow hard down the telltale with an airline or backflush it through the telltale with a hose then try it again. If your water barrel had crap in it's quite likely to have blocked the telltale.

If that doesn't work then get the lower unit off and have a look at the impeller and impeller housing. While you've got it off blow through/flush through the water pipe from the impeller housing to the powerhead.

You'll probably need more than air in a can. If you can't get higher volume than air in a can and the canned air doesn't work then stick the bare end of a hosepipe up against the telltale for a couple of seconds.

Stuart is very proud of his new compressed air system at the unit.

Take your aux down with you when you pick up your RIB.

my tell tale starts well but always gets clogged within 15 minutes so i run it in the hope that the cut out will work if it over heats, when i flush it i always push something up the t/tale (best suggestion i have read on this forum is a plastic strimmer nylon)and find that it is salt crystals, then its fine again until she 's in the sea 20 mins later.....

good news, we sorted it, thanks for your replies, - me and the "nasher" dropped the leg off checked the impellor, which looked fairly recent, put it back together after blowing through the tell tale with sum tubing and it started again!?! - good news on my part were both a little baffled at wot it actually was but hey!! thanks again
