Merc 9.8 float adjustment.

Hi.
Can any one tell me how to adjust the float on a Merc 9.8 Brown band. Many thanks in advance......Have done a search but still unsure....

If that model has a plastic float, can't be adjusted. Will need to replace float and float neeedle. If having a metal hinge, flip carb and check float stays parallel to carb's square body.

Bend flange in middle as needed. If needle's tip is worn, not evenly round pointy, change and don't adjust float level.

BTW, why do you need to adjust float height ?

Hi,
Many thanks for your reply, am having running problems, suspect fuel related, so just need to make sure float is as it should be so I can eliminate as being at fault.
