I don't know, but if I had £1000 to spend on a 15HP 2str I wouldn't be buying one that's had a major issue/repair. If its running like new, and everything is perfect again (was it you that had melted wiring?) then I'd guess its £800. If its scruffy less. If its not running perfectly and testable at sea less again.

What's the point?? Say the engine runs great and you get £800.you going to buy another engine that you haven't a clue what its history is? It could be another written off abused engine like yours? If your engine ends up not running right will you be happy selling it to someone that may rely on it in the sea?

If its not running well, your not going to get much for it. Make sure your straight with the potential buyer though..

He's already said he wants £800/£1000 if if not right or in his words he won't sell it if its running right. What ever happened to being honourable and good for your word..he was advised at the start of this thread to deal it out as a breaker.....

I think you may be reading between the line. Its easy to see why, due to Luke's insistance on using txt spk and very short posts.
Luke - please write in full english wherever possible it will help those your are talking to understand.

Full English - Definition:
1. Egg, two slices plastic bacon, a yukky beef sausage and a soggy tomato.
or
2. A sensible method of writing, halfway between Txt Spk and Scottish.

Luke, Sell your outboard for spares or repair and let someone else have the worry on if it is repairable. If it doesn't run properly after the repair you may struggle to even recover the cost of the failed repair.
If you are doubting the engine now will you ever by happy relying on it at sea, I wouldn't ?

Man, I'm old.
I think the consensus of 90% is sell the broken one and buy a sorted one. Even if yours is 'fixed' no-one on here will touch it with a barge pole knowing it's history...
Check Ebay etc for 'completed sales' to guage some sort of value.
But again as others say at least be honorable and upfront when selling it.

I read it differently, based on this:

Guy's confused, mun.
As Poly says, if he had the decency to use proper written Inglish and engage in fuller dialogue, then he may get his point across more legibly and achieve a better reasoned response.
