looks totally genuine to me - the feedback history is the thing to look for - also they list their phone number etc etc

Wish I had spotted this one earlier - still auction hasn't finished yet - they tend to go crazy last minute!

I don't now whether it is genuine or not but the pic is the same one that everyone slated as fake auctions the last time on the forum when one came up.........

Rupert me ole chum, as far as I remember, it's a completely different picture. The first fraudulent one was hung on the back of an ally bass fishing boat with a transom extension.

Seller ending auction early... this is a bit of a habit of many Ebay sellers who don't want to put off bidders by having a reserve. It would suggest the guy's basically genuine, but want's the right money. Most salerooms and auctioneers don't do this, but clearly Ebay regard it as an acceptable practice.

It is NOT the fake pic - as has been said that was on a boat!

The deal looks perfectly genuine but as has been pointed out he has been a bit naughty because he should have put on a reserve - he obviously wasn't prepared to let it go for £4000 odd - can't blame him but should have put up a clear reserve price - if you sell with NO RESERVE you should stick by it!!!

Ending the auction early is fairly common practice, It is the sort of thing they (ebay) turn a bit of a blind eye to and they have several reason codes for doing this.

If you are selling a high value item then you pay a lot more in sellers fees if you place a reserve on the item and are then successful in selling it. Makes sense therfore to limit your costs by having no reserve and then hoping that the auction fever or specialist knowledge of the product on sale will do the biz. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

It may have got fairly close to his 'mental reserve' but not close enough to make it worth his while.

Frustrating for genuine bidders who are hoping for a real bargain.

I buy and sell specialist guitars on ebay so I have seen this sort of thing quite a lot.

Some of the stuff i buy is this sort of value. I would never part company with that amount of dosh without going there and seeing the stuff first hand. If the seller is reluctant/stand offish. Walk away.

If a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is too good to be true. Cliche but a good one.
