Mercury 25HP Shallow Drive Lever

Hi All

Need some help please. I have to replace a broken shallow drive lever on my motor (see attached). I am having a few problems reinserting the new part as some springs need to be attached. I am having difficulty finding out exactly where the small spring should be attachd to the lever. I cannot seem to get the spring in the correct place on the part. Can anyone help at all?

Regards
Paul

look on one of the dealers that are on this site (blackdogmarine) parts list it will show you where the bits go, and how they go.

It's difficult to tell where the spring goes from the parts diagram and the workshop manual.. I've done it once, luckily had another to look at. Couldn't tell you how it goes now though.

Hope this helps -and the engine overall - hopefully the same . You can probably read the year etc off the plate on the leg to be sure.

They can be a pain to set up!. See attached photo if it helps. Once you have done about 100 in a row on a production line you will find it so easy!
