Mercury 300 race engine, and XR2

Hey, Does anyone no how to get hold of the Mercury 300 race engines, you no the ones on that green Mark Pascoe 9m?
Or even the old XR2's? Do they still make them? (the XR2's i mean)

Cheers
James

There you go, the official UK dealer for high performance Mercury engines. They rigged the pascoe 9m you mentioned also.

Gavin Brown at BBMS has some s/h 300 promax's for sale

You can find him over on "the darkside", or www.boatmadforum.co.uk as it's sometimes known.

In fact Boatmad is probably an altogether better site to ask this sort of question cos those boys are into XR2's and stuff

I don't think so!

An XR2 was a 2 litre carb engine, the 2.5 EFI was/is exactly what it says on the tin, and an additional 80 hp.

That is neither an XR2 or a 300 - it's a 2.5 efi, as standard they were 260hp or later 280hp as standard (the later ones have a digital injection system). This one is tuned - Smiling Jacks is a US tuning / aftermarket parts company in the US. If you want to know more about the different models etc try boatmad.com - there are some guys on there that know a lot about high performance Mercs.
