Mercury 60hp thermostat

I'm going to replace the thermostat on my 2003 Mercury 60hp 4-stroke. Can anyone help with a part number so I can find the right thing on eBay?

Outboard serial number is OP231518.

Thanks

Nick

If you have the model number, you'll find it here.
https://www.boats.net/catalog/mercur...oard/2003/60HP

You need to change the gasket at the same time. You can skim off the old gasket if it tears with a razor blade. Don't over-torque the bolts, nip up in sequence.

Cheers spartacus. Had a wee web chat with the website people which resulted in them giving me the wrong part number, which they also wouldn't deliver to the UK.

I eventually Googled the serial number on the thermostat cover and I've now got the right product through eBay for £40.

Never easy, eh?

Nick

Indeed. Get yourself a PDF parts catalogue for your engine. There are so many variants between models.
