mercury IGN key?

I have a control box for my 1979 Mercury that is missing its key.

How do I find out which control box I have?

Normally you need to remove the ignition barrel and the key number is printed onto the ignition. Then any merc dealer can supply, usually for around £5 or so.

with the older control boxs you can take out the barrel and see the number,on the newer boxs you will have to purchase a ign switch.
