Mercury Optimax 115 Starter Motor sticking

Wonder if anyone can help? My Mercury Optimax 115 (2005) is starting and running well however sometimes the starter motor gets stuck on after the engine has started. Can anyone confirm what the problem is likely to be. Even when the key is turned off, the starter motor is still turning when the problem occurs. Only cutting the power to the starter motor or turning the key as if to restart it (while it is already running) stops it turning. It is an intermittent problem that started this weekend.
Thanks,
Tim

Maybe faulty key switch or Starter Solenoid?

Not sure on yours but we checked mine out on the 200 by swapping it with another under the cowl think it was the trim
