can anyone tell me who the best man /company is to service a mercury engine in the North West. I'm based in Rochdale and I don't mind travelling within reason. have heard some real horror stories. Generally do the simple stuff myself but feel a "good service" is in order.
There is only one guy on the Fylde coast area that I trust with my engines and thats Jim Cookson-exceptionally good and trustworthy. I'll pm his contact details. He usually comes to me to do jobs so you need to see if its financially viable for him to come to you or if you can take it to him. You'll not find better!
Jim is excellent. Film star looks....my other half isn't sure which we remind her off when we are out there with the engines and putting the world to rights. She reckons its either Last of the Summer Wine ..or a double take of Victor Meldrew.
Hear Hear Dave,Jim Cookson is the only person to use in the north west of england when it comes to servicing etc.Really anything to do with boats Jim is the man.Best prices and all is work is guranteed.Like the main dealers but alot cheaper

Jim Cookson is "THE MAN" for outboard servicing on the fylde coast,he does a great job on nearly all the engines for the three boat angling clubs based here.
