Need some baseline prop specs. Mercury 90hp elpto

Ok. I have searched all over the net. read a lot of info on ribnet as well. I am overpropped I think. really poor fuel economy. lacking in top end, and high rpm's, aka over-rev.
The boat is a 22 loa rendova. not sure on weight. hoping someone here can estimate. Twin 90hp mercury elpto's. (about 650 lbs in motor alone.) current props are 5 blade mercury hi-fives, (not sure on pitch or diameter, not a concern. I want to start with a closer to "stock" prop.)
The previous owner complained of the boat having a hard time getting on plane before these props.
I would like better economy, higher top speed, and proper rpm's at wot.

In case anyone is curious, the props are 12 3/4" x 20 pitch. I thought for sure they were going to be 15 or 17. The boat leaps out of the water with six humans, and seems to be over revving. Ive seen 30ish knots, at what I thought was wide open. I have an ear for wide open. I don't want to push the motors anymore. looking for a bit more speed. this boat is capable of 40 knots correct?

What rpm are you seeing and at what top speed? At this top speed, what is the loading, that is how many people on board and gear and how full are the tanks?
