New 40 / 50 hp 4 stroke
I'm on the hunt for a new 40 or 50 HP 4 stroke. Anyone know of any good deals on new engines at present?
Chris

Not sure exactly what's wrong, but suspect bottom crank seal which means the power head has to come off. Top seal was replaced on Friday but it is still coughing. Also noticed crack in gearbox case which has been repaired by previous owner but really needs addressing before it splits and I lose gearbox oil. Decided it's best to sell that one for spares and get a new engine.
If anyone wants a non running yam 40 autolube for parts let me know.

I will look out for engine deals, but if it was me I would buy a 2 stroke, much faster, easier to maintain and cheaper!
I would obviously like a 4 stroke but for me it would have to come on a boat to be more cost effective.

Speak to Howard at SAL Marine in Lymington. He did me a great deal on a new Honda 50 (albeit about 15 months ago) and I believe it's the lightest 50 4-stroke on the market (and comes with a six year warranty too).
Their number is 01590 679588

Don't suppose your yam has ptt that you would like to sell?
Don't know if it would be any use, but there is a tidy looking yam 40 complete powerhead on eBay as a cheaper option

Looking at both second hand and new, but leaning towards new if I can get a reasonable deal.
