I'm 2 years in with a fault that can't be repeated in the test tank soon as I take out at sea it plays up bloody annoying

Just a thought, is the engine oil level correct? if overfilled, the created oil mist after running a while can end up in the carb through the engine breather hose and could interfere with the fuel mixture and cause stalling problems. It may not happen whilst in the tank as the engine does not get as hot as when running around on the water.
The ideal oil level should be just under the full mark on the dipstick.
