new yanmar diesel ZT350 sterndrive

hi folks
has anyone heard of this

YANMAR INTRODUCES ITS OWN STERNDRIVE

October 2008

The ZT350 is an all-new sterndrive, designed and manufactured by Yanmar Marine for use with its BY and LP series diesel engines.

The quiet, hydrodynamic ZT350 has a new type of hydraulic clutch for smooth operation, precision-forged gears to add durability, plus two counter-rotating

propellers to maximise acceleration and enable tight-hold tracking. Its large rudder dimensions allow superior handling on single and twin-engine boats. Weight with propellers is just 112kg.

With maximum power 350mhp (257kW) at 3,800rpm input the available gear ratios are 1.65 and 1.78. At a maximum 260mhp (191kW) at 4,000rpm, gearing is 1.97 or 2.18.

Aimed at the repowering market as well as new craft, the new Yanmar drive has the same installation dimensions as compatible units currently available in the market.

very intetesting indeed

Since they're down rating the power at higher ratios, it could be close to its limits in terms of strength. Just surmising.
