Now that you mention it, I seem to remember that the can in my garage has a warning about two stroke engines.... might just move it on to a safer (well distant) location!

never had to use it to start the motor only have to push key in to activate the choke the sometimes used it to keep it ticking over but very rarely
did try it at one point today out of curiousity but didnt appear to do anything and i did have the air filter off while trying to start it this evening and didnt notice any jets of fuel but would have to try that again to make sure,
so i should use the fast idle up to start it as well as key in for choke is this the correct way

It screws any engine if it's used on them.
The 'addiction' isn't an addiction-it's lowering of compression due to using easy start. The more you use it, the more damage/wear it causes to your engine and the more you need to start it with. Eventually it won't go at all.

engines rattle bad when using easy start and usually once you start to use it it will need it all the time ,, engines that used it always seemed to finish, up with cracked piston crowns, its just pure either and is too volitile for small engines even large diesel engines sound like somone has a hammer smashing at the piston when they start up,i know of one mechanic who got cornered in a garage canteen on his own by a security guards loose alsation
dog and he used 2 tins on it until it went that drowsey it went to sleep .

Sounds like you may have flooded it. I can't think of many outboards that will start from cold without the fast idle lever up......

Totally agree with that, its more like a detonation when this stuff goes off in your engine, caught my brother in law using it on one of my vintage tractors cos he was too stupid to look for the cold start button Grrrrr, tin destroyed before the engine was
Sorry ... off topic
