Old mariner 15 2 stroke tell tail

Hi guys.

The back up engine on my rib is an old Mariner longshaft 15hp 2stroke (grey and orange one)

I start it up every now and then and it always goes first pull. But last night I noticed the tell tail stopped after a min or so. I have not noticed this before. Is that normal or am I better to give it a flush and clean out

Salt or fresh water use to start with ? Poke a plastic cannula the ones found in WD-40, carb cleaner cans in/out several times the peeing port with motor ON and check if the obstruction ended.

Happy Boating

Brilliant mate. That’s worked a treat. Must have been built up salt in it.

Pumping like a trooper now
