one more prop question-----

Hi all,

I have a fairly new ribcraft 6.5 with a honda 150 on the back. The engine only has about 50 hours so far. My prop is a honda SS 3 blADE 14 3/4 X 20. general performance is good. My question is at WOT the engine is at 5,400-5,500 rpm at a max speed of 42 kts measured by gps .
Is this about it? I can't quite break the 50 mph mark.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Bill

Max rpm on that engine is supposed to be 5,500 so you've probably got all your going to get.

You could go through the hassle and expense of trying things like lifting the engine a hole or having the prop tuned but its probably not going to improve it.

Thanks for your response, you are most likely spot on (I hope I said that right). I would be interested in hearing from other ribcraft 6.5 owners with similar h/p engines and what they are getting for performance.
