2001 680hrs

We have a 2001 with, I think 640 or 680hrs.

Generally pretty reliable.

Only problems have been:

Running a little hot at displacement speeds at the beginning of the season. New impeller sorts that.

Random relay failure. Engine just wouldn't start. New relay sorted.

HT lead chafed through causing small loss of power. Took ages to find but cheap fix in the end.

Still running well. Reasonable on fuel and fantastic torque.

Been really happy with it.

The biggest downside to me is they're very noisy at idle. compared with a fourstroke. This may not be an issue for you though.

Fantastic torque and speed. Brilliant V6growl through the mid range, but quiet enough on the plane or at idle. Slightly noisier than 4S but heh, they aren't like the old oil burners. Quiet enough for us. Pretty good on fuel too, IMHO.

We had a lead rub through the rubber, which caused intermittent power problems also. Not sure if it was the HT one. PITA, but once sorted all excellent.

Cracking package the 150.

Have a few customers with 500 hrs upwards showing on them and still going strong.

That's power music you fool not noise!

I think they are great engines you get a lot of Bang for your buck and relatively frugal too, I'm not sure I would want to own one out of warranty though.

Have our old 2008 with 1800 plus hours sat in my workshop as an emergency spares donor or running swap-out for the current one fitted to the ocean. Running perfectly, although is a bit of a triggers broom.....original power head though That said, it never broke down at sea!
