Optimax Oil Consumption?

Just wondering if anybody knows how much oil an Opti 225 uses per 100 litres of fuel. Trying to work out how much to carry for my upcoming adventure..

doing my running in so using around 1-2 litres per 100 litres but as below i suspect this might drop to around 1-1.25 litres per 100 litres

Woa, woa. This is not my experience, Optis are variable consumption engines, anything down to 30:1 according to the dealers, or Barrus themselves. It is entirely dependant on the revs and load apparantly. I know this cos my 150 was drinking it at one point and I got worried, and no it wasn't stuck on running in cycle. But there was no problem, except that the right stuff cost £30 or so a pop (as I remember)

not as such but it is hydroscopic so keep it sealed and store within the recomended temperature range. It kinda doesn't like getting cold

All hydraulic oil absorbs moisture. If you really want to look after your car's braking system then flush and replace it every 1-2 years. This will prevent siezed calipers.

I concurr. When running light mine seems to use next to nothing. When heavily laden it gets through it at an alarming rate!
