Outboard engine Bracket

Hi,

I need some advice if anyone out there can help with outboard bracket clamps.

We have a Yamaha 9.9FHM outboard and one of the clamps on the bracket has sheared off. I have searched for direct replacements but I cannot seem to see many. So my question is:

Does anyone know a good/trusted site with spares for this model

Or does any other outboard have compatible clamps/bracket that could be used instead?

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum DC19. What age is the outboard and exactly which part do you need? The threaded clamp, the handle that goes on that... or the whole saddle casting?

Likely the whole saddle casting, the clamp seized up and someone was a bit over enthusiastic trying to un seize it and the threaded clamp completely snapped off. I believe the outboard is around a 2004 model

Cheers

As Jeff has indicated used parts are expensive for OBs. Can you upload an image so we might have ideas how to resolve.

Might be worth calling BHG Marine, once you know exactly what you need.

Hi sorry for the delay, I think I have managed to upload of photo of the damaged part, it is not the handles, it is the whole section that holds the handle and threaded bar.

Ouch! It looks as if you need item 1 on this parts diagram...

Bracket 1 replacement parts for 2003 Yamaha 15MSHB/9.9MSHB

One will no doubt come up on Ebay in time.

Fenlanderm,

Cheers, I have found the part but can't find any available. I was wondering how similar different models would be to perform a transplant of sorts!
