Looks like the correct shaft length for you SIB... but ask him to measure to be sure. Price is about the right starting price if it starts easily, runs nicely and looks mint under the hood plus it has its tank/line.

Little bit of alloy corrosion that needs spraying on the leg to tidy it.

Nearer £500 might be a target to aim for and see where it ends up??

Well I thought I'd offer 500.. But I'd run to 550. The tank and fuel lines are included too.

He's been running it on a 3.2m SIB. I'm fairly sure it's correct length now.. thanks Fenlander. I've messaged him to check..

Excellent engine, looks clean. Make sure you see it start and run, check the tell tail and listen for any bearing noise (its very obvious if its not well). They have been selling for up to £800 all summer, grab it quick and get out on the water.

I think it will be fine with an 8 on it, I had the same boat with a Yamaha 8hp four stroke on for a couple of years and it would easily plane with two adults onboard , I would think it should just about plane with two adults and two children. As mentioned the pressure in the floor is very important , the floor is basically a fairly flat floor with an inflatable keel underneath and if not up to pressure the floor would bend in the middle above the keel and also ripple (especially if someone kneels down in the front of the boat )and really reduce the performance of the boat. I would also recommend a bravo pump to get the right pressure and save setting up time.

Just to let you know, I managed a price of just £500 on the 8hp Yamaha, incl tank, two fuel lines and all the original manuals etc. Feeling quite chuffed with that!

Good to hear it should plane with two adults on board as well! I hoped it would. Thanks for the comment on the Bravo pump as well. I will definitely be purchasing one of those!

I'll let you know how it performs once I've picked up the outboard and had a chance to play with it...

Well done on buying it... and at that price. I think it will be OK for your needs but you would be in for a certain profit if you prove it runs nicely and then wanted to sell late spring/early summer next year.

Thanks Fenlander.. YEs, I'm pretty chuffed at that price. I will give it a 'proper' clean up once the season is over, and attend to the bits of corrosion on it. Hopefully come next year it will sell on for a small profit..

I'm already eyeing up a 3.8m boat with a 15 or 20hp engine for next year...! ;-)
