outboard lock options

Guys i have just acquired a 25hp mariner engine for my fathers boat and due to the fact the engine is going to remain on the boat on the river I'm looking for options on how to secure the engine to the boat to ward off the river rats.

i also need some pointers on spares parts for the quicksilver control box as it was dropped by the previous owner and snapped the knob off the top.

McGard outboard locks are the best I've come across if you're bolting it on.

Sounds like you don't have the key/tool. Your going to learn how to "steal" your outboard when that needs removing. Been there before and I can confirm chopping away with an angle grinder in the middle of a busy boatyard is one way to introduce yourself
