Outboard Testing Service Required; Bristol

Hi,
I have a DT85 that I would like to have tested before I trail it all the way to the coast and find I still have a running fault under load.

Any suggestions on where I can get this done, what equipment would be used and what it is likely to cost me?

Cheers,

Orve.

Outboard service Bristol

There's a good marine engineer in Portishead Marina, Advance Marine. Not sure about service charges but we got a great deal on a new engine and he knows his stuff. Worth a call - 01275 815910

-Take it somewhere to be looked at and part with £x, worth getting the compressions checked though.

-I took mine to a local outboard engineers, and they had a tank (instead of muffs) where you could run the engine under load.

-Alternatively (and i will probably get slated for this) if your pretty sure you have fixed the problem. Try out on the water, but make sure you take a friend with you, or just a quiet river somewhere. The only way your going to know if you havE fixed it is by A. a test tank, or B. trying it. I had a Suzuki 2stroke, been there, done it!

Or try and get a test wheel prop thing second hand and run the engine in a big bucket. Give Bill Higham a call - he did have a fair few of them for sale on boatsandoutboards not so long ago.

whats the fault

i have a dt65 and under load it kept cutting out when you tried to open it up.
it was choking on its own exhaust gases and just needed the revs ajusting.
this was done by home marine emsworth hants
