Outboard workshop found

Whilst trying to find a spare prop nut for my Suzi 200 I came across an outfit on Hayling Island I'd not heard of.

Two businesses running side by side.
Ivors Engines and Bens outboards.
Millrythe Lane, Hayling Island, Hampshire PO11 0QQ
Tel: 023 9246 6999
I also have a mobile number in the car that I'll post later.

They have a huge stock of used parts for slightly older engines. For instance they were just dismantling a DT150 (Carb) Suzi and a 115 Yamaha that had gearboxes etc intact.
They also have plenty of small and mid sized engines for sale that they will service and supply with a short guarantee period.
I looked at a clean early 90's Suzi 9.9 as an auxillary for £450

Ben also told me he'll soon have a batch of Lazer props in for sale at a good price.

Although I'm NOT connected in any way, mention my name and Rib.net if you go down there.

The outboard repair centre seems suited towards older engines.
Pepes specialises in Mariner but does all sorts. They do a good service in re building props and changing the pitch etc.

Pepe are OK agreed, but as we both mentioned the other guys are more into slightly older engines, and those of us that run them are usualy the same people looking for good used spares. Your post is worded as if you have a problem with anybody dealing with older engines.

I'm told Pepe farm the prop work out, and god help you if you walk into the shop and get the one guy with the attitude problem.

They have however helped me out in the past big time and I'd say they are one of the best around, however my recommendation here is for good used spares at a reasonable price, something Pepe are not into.

Nasher I don't have a problem with older engines. I just wanted to point out that is what that shop is geared towards. How would I know, I've got an older engine.

Agreed it is good for spares.

Ben is a good guy - I bought the 40hp Mariner that was on my last RIB from him about four years ago. He used to run the business from his garage - seems he must be doing well if he now has a shop! Very helpful chap too; always avalible on the phone for advise etc.

Remembering Nashers post about outboards, I called on Ben this morning to see what he had in stock for an aux engines. Turns out he had over 100 engines in various sizes, including a number of 10 hp Mercury Seapros, all 2003 and in good condition. Perfect as backup for a rib, but be quick if you want one they wont be around for long when the spring arrives.
