P 22 101 leg

Any one know how to take off the inner bearing housing on a Stern P 101 did mine 5 years ago with the leg out, but cannot remember if you just undo the 4 retaining bolts & slide it out.

Like you I did it with the leg of but I can see no reason why you can not get access removing the four bolts. You might find the splines are seized.

The only other problem you will have is re-assembly because the yoke will drop down and you might not be able to reach it to line it back up again. So I think you will have to open the bellows as well.

Have you got a problem?

Philip, I didnt see this thread till today, must be going blind. If you havent done it already, the inner bearing housing does just slide off from the inside once the bolts have been removed. For re-assembly, the joint does drop down a bit, however the leg can be put in the raised position and the splined shaft put in to position.
