P 22 header tank leak

Any of you P 22 owners know how to stop the filler neck
Leaking on the header tank, tried new gasket. Still leaks,
Tried silicone with the gasket still leaks, any ideas

Philip, do you mean the joint from the header tank to the engine? i have seen a few problems with these, generally the two studs have stripped their threads. Best idea is new studs / gasket, and a correctly adjusted lower mounting bracket.

If you mean the top filler - as i think you might, i have seen this problem aswell and just put up with it. I have given up to the fact that there really is something living and breathing under the engine cover !

I wonder if its the cap that is leaking due to a bad seal or high internal pressure rather than the seal on the flange. Possibly cleaning the flange properly and then using a high temperature RTV type sealant will cure it. Silicone is really meant for windows...

Over full header tank, leaking when it expands? does it stop if you don't top it up?
